Our Projects

River Heritage Conservancy was formed in 2016, as a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving landscapes and the history that surrounds them in the southern Indiana area.

Efforts include working with land that has been forgotten and repurposing them as a place to enjoy as a place to walk or just sit, while others are reshaped and repurposed to generate revenue, in order to sustain operations or create natural interest, such as protecting wetlands to the surrounding communities.

The importance of forming a conservancy is pretty simple- it’s all about sustainability. Municipal parks face a change in leadership every voting cycle while a conservancy can focus on the long-term allowing consistency through focused sustainability.

Currently our three projects are within Origin Park, located on the bank of the Ohio River in Clarksville, Indiana but other projects may come as we continue our efforts on protecting and preserving over 400 acres that were once filled with junkyards and landfills but also with a historic past that is worth celebrating and protecting.
